Devlog 4: Weekly Update from our Producer and Design Lead!


This week our Producer Tilly and Design Lead Kirsten go over what they've achieved throughout the sprint!


Kirsten:

Hiee!! This week I mostly worked on asset creation and polishing for our 2nd winter level! I modelled the feature headstone that can be seen on the winter enemy boss' back, as well as their gravestone sculpting tools. I also had the chance to work on a neat particle system comprised of sparkles and stylized smoke poofs to accompany a not-so-secret mechanic that players can watch out for Aside from that, I also worked on a mini timed jump-puzzle with our Tech Lead Daniel!! While Daniel worked on the mechanics, I built a cave that players will be able to find and leap into in our winter level.




Tilly

This week was spent focusing on finishing the asset population of level 2, as well as creating some effects that can be used in the level, such as the interactive snow and falling snow particle system! For asset population, I took Kirsten's blockout and made it into it's ~final form~ by adding trees, obstacles, lights and other props around the level. I also worked on 3D modelling some mountains and a lantern for use in the level! Overall, this was a busy and successful sprint and excited to see the level fully completed once Kirsten has finished tweaking and polishing.
